The office of the Illinois Secretary of State and the Illinois State Library are teaming up to educate the public on the need for minority organ and tissue donors. August is National Minority Donor Awareness Month. There are more than 106,000 people on the national transplant waiting list, including people of every age, ethnicity, and gender. Minorities make up 36% of the U.S. population but comprise 58% of those on the national transplant waiting list. Learn more here.
