State Representative Dan Brady (R-Normal) is teaming up with the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity hosting a second Webinar for local businesses hoping to apply for Business Interruption (BIG) Grant funding to help weather the Coronavirus shutdown and lingering restrictions.
The Webinar will be held on Wednesday, September 30, at 1:00pm. Registration is required (click anywhere in the image above).
Rep. Brady said BIG Grant funds may be used to help businesses with working capital expenses, including: payroll costs; rent; utilities; and other expenses resulting from COVID-19 related closures.
According to DCEO, the $220 million second round of BIG includes $60 million for heavily distressed industries, such as movie theatres, performing arts venues, concert venues, indoor recreation and more. More than $100 million in grant assistance will be reserved for businesses in downstate and rural communities.
“During Round one of BIG grant awards, businesses in our district were successful in securing $240,000 in assistance. While DCEO has targeted some of the round two relief dollars, the program is open to all businesses impacted by COVID. I encourage all area businesses to find out more by participating in the Wednesday Webinar,” Rep. Brady said.
